It's me!
Dear Readers!
How r u all doing? I'm good. Doesn't know that my site is still operating cos it has been almost two years since my last post. For those who don't know what has happened to me throughout these past two years, let me tell you.
Firstly, happy to tell y'all that I've graduated from UTM. Just graduated during the previous convocation which was held on 16-17th April 2005. There were not many people during that time though. There was Fitri, Izati, Mien, Miruel, K. Linda and several other TESLians. Thank you very much to Kenneth who came all the way from Kuching to celebrate the event with us. He stayed with us for about 2 days, I guess. We had a small gathering at Miss Fatimah' house. We were very happy to see each other again after almost6 months of not seeing each other. We stayed up until quite late at night. I was not really satisfied though cos I went back home to Kelantan straightly after the ceremony on the 17th. My brother who was our drive had to attend a course in Kerteh on the next day, so we had to rush. I'm hoping that I will see my friends again.
How's everybody doing? Shued has got married! Whose is coming up really soon? Tell me, tell me... I'm sorry Shued, couldn't attend your wedding. For those who still don't know, I'm currently teaching in SMKSII in Sandakan, Sabah. I have been here for about 4 months already. Apart from that, I just got an offer to participate in a Program called Foreign Language Teaching Assistant in the US, offered by the Institute of International Education. Not sure yet whether I will be able to participate. It is such as golden opportunity to turn down, but since I've just started working, I'm not sure whether the Ministry of Education will let me go. I haven't really made the decision though. Besides, I don't have any personal funds to bring since I just started working. It is important that we have some funds with us when we are long way from home, right? Although they will give me a monthly stipend of US$1215, I don't think that will be enough as I will be responsible for everything including house rental.
I have to stop now as my turn to teach the computer class has about to come. Bye!!!
Dear everyone who's reading this,
What's up guys? I hope everyone's doing good. How did you guys celebrate our 46th National Day? Well, to tell you the truth, I celebrated it by sitting in front of my computer and trying hard to finish some of my assignments and I was hoping that I was doing something that can make our country proud. hehehe:) Anyway, I don't really know what to talk about and I'm still having problem to use the internet since the main server in UTM is still down. Now, I'm starting to get really irritated with the internet service in the campus. We are the Discovery University, why can't they make it better again? As the result of the problem, now I have to get out at night and walk for 15 minutes to use the internet and it is really not safe too in here nowdays, since there are too many people come to work at the construction site.
Enough about the story of the internet. Now I would like to talk about movies. Since we're having too many assignments right now, I couldn't find time to watch any movies. However, I really want to watch SWAT, The Medallion and Pirates of the Carribean. They look like real good movies. If you guys have seen the movies, maybe you could write your comments about them to me, so feel free to visit my guestbook. Talking about other movies that I've watched, I liked How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days and 2 Fast 2 Furious the most. I really enjoyed watching those movies. Well, I don't really know what else I want to write here so I guess I'm outta here. I'll write again later, guys. Adios.....
Dear readers,
Hello everyone!!! How are you doing? I hope you're all in great shape. Well, just to confide something to anyone who may read this. Haaah..... I am very busy, stressed out and I feel like drowning myself in the ocean in Sekakap now. hehehe:) just kidding, don't worry, I wouldn't do that. Well, one thing for sure I'm also very relief now since all language camps are over and they did give me great experiences and a lot of sweet memories that will surely make me smile in later on. Anyway, coming back to how busy I am, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's having headache every night now, thinking about so much work to be done. All Fourth Year TESLIANS must be feeling the way I am. Now, I will start counting my unfinished and undone assignments. For now, I have one assignment for CALL, one assignment for Language Testing, one for Discourse, one for computer, one for Action research and several for Curriculum Studies. The worst part of all is that they all due on almost the same time. Ahh man...what a headache!!! Anyway, I know just talking about them couldn' t get them done, so I have to continue working on them. It seems that I was taking a break from them for quite some time now.
In conjunction of the topic of assignments, we also have trouble using the internet nowadays that the main server in UTM has been broken down for almost a week now. Since most of our assignments require us to make use of the internet, we have more troubles of going out to the CC. One thing about Cyber Cafes, there are only one of two of them in Taman U and they only open during nights. That make the situation even worse. By the way, I am in Kampung Net now, searching for information for the assignments. Well... I want to stop talking about my assignments now. Lets talk about something else.... In just several more days, we are going to celebrate our 46th Independence Day. Now, for everyone who has stopped by and read this, could you please write something about that. Maybe you could give your personal comment on what have you contributed so far for our country. Well, please feel free to write something about stuff related to that. I am very excited and delighted to read all your comments. Till then, thanks a lot people for reading this and chiow!!!
Dear readers,
Hello again everyone!!! How's life getting on, fellow TESLIANS? Must be really busy ha? With PSM 1 dues next week and for those who haven't heard yet, bad news guys, we've just got another assignment for Testing and Measurement which dues on 8 September 2003. :) hehehe...Happy Doing Assignments you all! Anyway, this time around, I would like to share with you guys a little bit of my experience going to a recent convocation in USM. Well, as some of you might have already known, I went for my eldest sister's convocation in USM, Penang during weekends a fortnight ago. I went there by bus and thanks a lot to Ila, I managed to get the bus driver to drop me off exactly in front of USM's main gate. Being a first timer in USM, I didn't know that I actually had to walk to the other end of USM to get to the main mosque (it has several mosques), the place where my sister was waiting for me. Luckily, there was this nice lady, a USM's staff, gave me a lift halfway to the mosque. She couldn't take me all the way to the place because most of the main roads in USM were closed and they were actually waiting for the Canselor (the Sultanah) to arrive. After a 15 minutes walk, I reached the place safely. At about 10.30 am, my mother and my younger brother arrived from Kelantan and we went to Georgetown to find a place to stay. Well, to cut the story short, I have come to a conclusion that USM's convocation for this time was no so organized (I don't know about the previous ones) because of a few reasons. One important reason is because it started on Thursday and students were not given holidays for convocation which made the campus really, really crowded. It was not a convenient situation at all for families and friends who came from all over Malaysia to attend the convocation. With very limited parking lots and a lot of closed roads, the situations together with our annoyance and irritations were just undescribable. I believe that USM could do a lot better than that. One more thing that I would like to tell you guys is how the security/traffic officers or guards did their job. I found out that they were not nice or friendly at all. When the traffic situations were getting out of control, they just shouted and screamed to the road users on the roads. Some of them were very rude, using words such as stupid to the people who were driving and whom I believe were mostly parents and outsiders. How did I hear all those things? Actually, at the time, we were somewhere around the place waiting for my brother to go and get the car from the parking lot which was very far from the main venue of the event. Well, all I'm saying is that the guards certainly did not show any respect for us and that wasn't suppose to happen. I really, really hope things like that, will not happen in UTM when I graduate later on. Well, I guess that's all. Feel free to write any opinions or comments on what just being told in my guestbook. Thanks a lot readers! See 'ya next time.
To anyone who may concern,
Hi!!! What' s up readers? How was your holiday? Hopefully, you guys had a wonderful holiday. Anyway, talking about last semester break, I did not even have a chance to go back and have a nice, wonderful and relaxing holiday with my family. In fact, I have spent each and every day of my holidays working on discourse and computer's assignments. However, I really feel bad cause I could not give much attention to the computer's assignment or put more effort to do it better for this first presentation. I'm sure though, most of us did concentrate more on discourse's because the assignment certainly needed a lot of hard work and it was time consuming too. Luckily, we (Damien and I) managed to finish it at last, and still on the discouse' s topic, what happened if we do have a mid-term test tomorrow??? Haahhhh....I think we have a very hectic schedule this semester, with many replacement classes and all. Anyway, we only have about five to six more weeks to go and to anyone who is still struggling with PSM 1, all the best to you guys!!! In conjunction with this coming convocation and while everyone is still in the convo mood, I would like to express my sadness and disappoinment for not being able to graduate with most of you. Several of us will be staying here for another semester and I am one of them. Anyway, don't worry, I'll be waiting for you guys just outside the hall with free bougenvilla that I'll pick around UTM so that I could give it to you guys on your convocation day. he! he! he :) Before I go, remember guys, to graduate you have to finish your PSM, so start paying full attention to it now! I heard that the submission date will be on any day within this week or next week. Easy for me to say ha, cause I'm not doing it now, right? Anyway, I think that's all for now, until next time, adios amigos!
Hello everyone!!! I'm here again. I just came back from my second language camp for this semester. The one that was held in Academy Kaizen, Gunung Pulai. In general, I could only say that I have had a completely different experience than the one I've had in Kluang. Everything was different; place, fellow facilitators and even participants were not the same. When I first arrived at the place, I was having some difficulties trying to get used to the place and the weather which was raining almost all the time when we were there. I could also say that I've learnt a lot from other people during the whole three days and two nights' stay in Kaizen. I also noticed different side of people who I have known for almost four years but I haven't noticed anything before. Anyway, one thing that I think most of the people who went for this language camp would agree with me is that, at the end of the camp, we could see a drastic change of attitude of the participants towards English language. They have changed from being very afraid to speak the language to at last, volunteering themselves to speak out their feelings and opinions aloud in English, in front of everyone during the last night of the camp. I know that all of us feel very, very happy with the change and I also believe, all of us do hope that after going through the camp, the participants will change their perspective on English. At least, they've gained the confidence to speak the language and they will not be afraid of making mistakes. I think that's all for now. I'll write again soon. Bye, readers!!!
Hello, readers!!!
Today, I would like to continue writing about my experience during my first language camp that was held in Pusat Latihan Orang Asli in Kluang. Actually, it was not in my planning all along to participate in the camp. I had only accepted the invitation to go there, the Thursday morning, two days before the day we were supposed to depart. Anyway, on the next, Friday morning, we, the facilitators (Shahrizam, K. Aisyah, Diyah, Megat, Adila and I) had our first and last meeting to finalize all activities that should be conducted in the camp. Since, it was my first time joining the camp, I listened a lot to other people's suggestions and ideas which was based on their experiences. Later that night, we had already been invited to attend the launching ceremony at KTC and there, we had one slot to introduce ourselves and the chief of facilitators gave a short motivational talk which was conducted based on one simple ice-breaking activity that we had before that. I' ll continue writing again later. I'm late for my Discourse 'class. Bye!!!
